New Orleans is a one-of-a-kind destination, famous for Creole and Cajun cuisine, jazz music, raucous brass bands and historic architecture. Our four-night stay while in New Orleans will be in the heart of the city just blocks from world-famous Bourbon Street. Celebrate New Year's Eve with the Sugar Bowl Mardi Gras style parade and an evening of dinner, dancing, and champagne at the WWII Museum, featuring performances by the Victory Belles vocal trio and a 12-piece big band swing orchestra!

Day 1
What better time to get out of the blustery winter weather for a respite in warmer climes for Wisconsinites. Join Lamers as we motor directly south to the bustling and exciting city of New Orleans for some fun, warmth and sunshine. This first day of our travels take us as far as Mount Vernon, IL and the Drury Inn & Suites
Day 2
Following a great breakfast at the Inn, we continue our travels into the southwestern Tennessee area. Once again, we stop for an overnight at the Drury Inn & Suites Jackson, MS with time to kick back and enjoy all the amenities this family-owned hotel chain has to offer.
BDay 3
We're on the road again heading around the western edge of Lake Ponchartrain and into the major metropolis of New Orleans, LA. While here, we enjoy a glorious
4-night stay in the heart of the French Quarter and just blocks from the world famous Bourbon and Royal Streets. Hotel TBD. Enjoy lunch -- with a musical performance by the Victory Belles trio -- and free time to expore the massive WWII Museum.
Day 4
This morning, explore the Historic French Quarter with a guided walking tour, and soak up the charm of wrought iron balconies and fleur de lis. Then put your party hats on to watch the Sugar Bowl Parade, complete with Mardi Gras bead tossing and revelry. After a rest break at the hotel, dress up for tonight's New Year's Eve dinner & party at the WII Musuem. Evening attire, service member uniforms, or period 1940s costumes encouraged (no jeans please). The night wraps up with a champagne toast at Midnight and more swingin' & dancin'.
B, DDay 5
As mid-morning rolls around, enjoy a Swamp Boat tour and Cajun' luncheon. Just be careful the gators don't eat you for lunch! Afternoon brings us to City Park for a stroll through the sculpture gardens and time to enjoy beignets at Cafe du Monde. Our evening is spent aboard the Creole Queen with an included dinner and jazz cruise.
B, LDay 6
Go behind the scenes at Mardi Gras World watch artisans (and a robot!) create one-of-a-kind floats for NOLA's many parades. Up next, we explore the rich cultural history of the Mardi Gras Indians at the Backstreet Cultural Museum. Learn to make gumbo and more a demonstration and lunch at a local cooking school. Your evening is free to explore Bourbon Street and the French Quarter.
B, LDay 7
It's time to begin to motor north, retracing our steps to the greater Memphis, TN area. After a day of travelling, we check into the Drury Inn & Suites for a relaxing evening.
BDay 8
Keep the groove goin' with a day in Memphis, home to the blues & more jazz. We tour the city and stop at the Rock 'n Soul Museum. Explore famous Beale St. and find a cozy spot to soak up some tunes or chow down on famous Memphis BBQ. Our final overnight will be back in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Day 9
Back into our familiar midwestern terrain, we are on the last leg of our fantastic tour. We hope you have met new friends, wonderful memories and exciting stories to tell.
