Willkommen to Christmas Town!
Frankenmuth, Michigan, is just 90 miles north of Detroit, is known to many as Michigan’s Little Bavaria. It’s home to intricate German architecture, boutique lined streets, jingling horse drawn carriages, family-style chicken dinners, and the World’s largest Christmas store. While the city is home to just 5,000 residents, it welcomes nearly million visitors a year. As a four-season destination, Frankenmuth welcomes visitors from around the world all year long.
Day 1
Frankenmuth is a well-known Christmas season destination. Come along to be immersed into an old-fashioned experience. We don't have too far to go but when we arrive, check into the lovely Drury Inn & Suites, boasting the architecture of an alpine chalet. The next two nights will be enjoyed here.
Day 2
Enjoy breakfast before welcoming the local guide for a driving tour of the community. Learn more about the German-inspired influences that make Frankenmuth so special. St. Lorenz Church was founded in the mid-1800s by immigrants coming from the seaport of Bremen, Germany. During the tour hear more of the church's history and beautiful architecture. Lunch and some holiday shopping will be enjoyed at the Riverplace Shoppes, complete with heated streets for customer comfort! Hope you rested up during lunch because this afternoon is a visit to the largest Christmas store in the world! Bronner's Christmas Wonderland boasts over 27 acres of shopping holiday wonders. It features a fantastic selection of ornaments, trims, trees, lights, nativities, and collectibles, cards, garlands, stockings…pretty much everything you can think of! After a full day, drop your packages back at the hotel before indulging in dinner at the famous Bavarian Inn. Following we top off the day with a drive of Christmas Lane twinkling light display.
B, DDay 3
Before departing Frankenmuth, we make a last stop at the local Frankenmuth Clock & German Gifts. This shop has been a staple in Michigan's Little Bavaria community for over 35 years. Marvel at the authentic German clocks and other genuine, high-quality souvenirs that offer a taste of the old country. We're on the road again traveling southwest towards the town of Marshall, MI. Here we pause for lunch and show at Cornwell's Turkeyville. Enjoy a turkey luncheon with all the trimmings and the holiday performance of Turkey & Tinsel a Holiday Extravaganza!
