Enjoy the best of the Big Apple! Times Square, a Broadway performance, a harbor skyline sightseeing cruise, and a guided tour of Manhattan. Experience the city like a local as we discover diverse ethnic neighborhoods, enjoy delicious cuisine, and experience the sizzle of New York City!
Day 1
The Big Apple, the City That Never Sleeps, Gotham City - all apt monikers for the most populous city in America, New York City. A leading global city, New York exerts powerful influence on commerce, finance, culture, fashion and entertainment. It is an important center for international affairs. We can get acquainted with our fellow travelers today as we head eastward bound. Our first overnight will be in Fremont, OH.
Day 2
Our travels take us through the hills of Ohio. The shadows of the Appalachian Mountains greet us, as we cross the state of Pennsylvania. We will overnight in the Stroudsburg area.
Day 3
This morning our final few miles into New York City with our first tour at the amazing Grand Central Station in the heart of the city. Visit lesser-known areas of this famous building-from an old movie theater to the former office of a 1920s railroad tycoon. Take an intimate look at the daily routine of one of the world's biggest and busiest travel hubs. Learn more about the major sites inside including the Grand Central Market, Transit Museum, Grand Central Clock, Vanderbilt Hall, the Whispering Gallery, and the Main Concourse. Then check in and enjoy the next four nights at our hotel in New York. Explore the bustling area around the hotel before embarking on a sunset cruise on the Hudson River onboard the four-masted Schooner, the Adirondack.
Day 4
Put on your best walking shoes this morning because we're getting a local's eye-view of Soho, Little Italy and adjacent Chinatown. At the finale of our walk, we feast on a Chinese Banquet Luncheon at one of the established restaurants in Chinatown. Following lunch, we board our coach for a locally narrated driving city tour of New York. Some serious scenery will pass our windows as we travel the streets and byways to see Central Park, the Empire State Building, past the familiar Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall and The Juilliard School. Landmarks and movie locations will also be brought to life as we make our way through the city. During the tour we will stop at the 9-11 Museum and Memorial. We will return to the hotel early evening.
Day 5
Made known and ultimately famous, Chelsea Market has been frequented by local New York chefs for decades. Open to the public, experience one of the most exciting food halls and shopping malls plus television production facility located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. We drop our goodies off at the hotel before heading to Broadway and an afternoon matinee. Not chosen yet but will most certainly be a show-stopping experience. After the show, check out the 86th Floor of the Empire State Building for a one-of-a-kind view of the city. Tonight, enjoy an included dinner at the always wonderful Carmines, a New York favorite.
Day 6
Now that you are familiar with New York and all it has to offer, we'll give you lots of ideas to fill your free time in the city on the last day here. You may want to experience a fabulous lunch or dinner, take a carriage ride through Central Park or take the hop on and off tour bus to visit other great attractions.
BDay 7
It's time to make our way westward back towards the Midwest. We will pause as usual for stretch breaks plus an included lunch before ending the day at our hotel in the Youngstown, OH area.
Day 8
The final leg of our journey is here. Time to say goodbye and reminisce about the amazing New York we all just experienced.
