Hosted Holidays® by Lamers Tour & Travel is a great way for travelers who don't live near one of our departure cities to join us on any tour. We'll help you determine the best city to fly into and coordinate meeting up with the group. Please note that in addition to the overall trip cost, if you're participating in Hosted Holidays®, you'll be responsible for your own airfare as a separate charge.
Day 1
The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains awaits us as we meet out travel companions. Enjoy lunch before continuing our journey to the first night in Covington, KY at the Holiday Inn, Covington, KY.
Day 2
We continue traveling through Kentucky today, stopping at Berea for lunch at the historic Boone Tavern. Owned and operated by Berea College, the tavern is more of a roadhouse than its name would indicate. Students of the tuition-free Berea College operate Boone Tavern. It has recently undergone an extensive remodeling. Later we continue to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and our hotel accommodation will be at the Drury Plaza Hotel right in Pigeon Forge for the next three nights. This evening we enjoy Dolly's Pirates Voyage Dinner Show!
B, L, DDay 3
After a fresh breakfast, meet your local guide for visit to the Dolly Statue, downtown Sevierville and finally we spend most of the day at Dolly Parton’s famous musical theme park, Dollywood. Nestled in the foothills of the Smokies, Dollywood has something for everyone. More than a dozen tages feature the best in country, bluegrass, mountain and gospel music. Craftsmen demonstrate blacksmithing, glass blowing and wood carving. For the very brave, take a ride on the award-winning wooden roller coaster.
We whisk you away to dinner, where we can have time to laugh and engage with the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud, a long time classic and enjoyable attraction!
Return to Dollywood for the evening performanes and beautiful displays of lights and decorations.
Depending on the time of year, you will embrace different themes and attractions at Dollywood. Theme changes based on the season.
Day 4
This morning we take a drive through Great Smoky Mountain National Park with a local guide. The scenery is beautiful. Watch for the wildlife residing in the park. The park has one of the most diverse ollections of flora and fauna in the United States. Later we spend some time shopping in Gatlinburg, gateway to the park. You will enjoy a tour and tasting at Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery at the Holler in Gatlinburg. Enjoy free time for lunch and shopping for that perfect souvenir. Tonight indulge in an included dinner at the locally famous and delicious Applewood Farmhouse then take your seats and tap your toes at the Country Tonite Show.
B, DDay 5
We will leave Pigeon Forge this morning heading for our overnight accommodations in the Louisville, KY area. Of course we halt at the ‘big bat’ to visit the Louisville Slugger Museum to see how baseball bats are made and learn the history of some of the more famous bats. This evening we will enjoy dinner and a show at the Derby Dinner Playhouse. Overnight at our accommodation in Clarksville, IN.
B, DDay 6
With the beauty and music of the Smokies in our memories, we continue home to family and friends.
