Join your Lamers Motorcoach and meet your dedicated Tour Director and Professional Licensed Driver, as you journey north through the rolling farmlands of Wisconsin and the lush forests of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, anticipation builds for a relaxing escape. Upon arrival in Mackinaw City, you settle into the comfortable Hamilton Inn Select right on the sandy beach front, ready to rest before the ferry carries you across the sparkling Straits of Mackinac to your island home.

 

The next morning, a scenic ferry ride across the sparkling Straits of Mackinac brings you to the enchanting island. Downtown Bicycle Street Inn awaits, ideally situated within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the waterfront, allowing you to immerse yourself in the island’s charm immediately.

 

Upon arrival, your luggage is transported to the hotel while you begin your adventure with a narrated horse-drawn carriage tour. This leisurely excursion introduces you to iconic sights such as Arch Rock, Skull Cave, Surrey Hill, and historic Market Street. Afterward, indulge in an included leisurely lunch at the Grand Hotel, where the elegance of this historic landmark and sweeping views of Lake Huron make every bite memorable. Returning to the Bicycle Street Inn, you have time to explore downtown, browse charming boutiques, sample world-famous fudge, or simply relax by the harbor.

 

The next morning, after a hot breakfast, we join another carriage ride by horse to watch the island life before we finds ourselves through the gates and into Michigan's past at Fort Mackinac. Perched high above the Straits of Mackinac, this remarkable fort brings centuries of American history to life through dramatic stories, historic buildings, costumed interpreters, and the sound of cannon fire echoing across the island. Wander through the stone walls and original structures, imagine the soldiers who once stood watch over the Great Lakes, and take in the breathtaking views from this spectacular vantage point. Fort Mackinac isn't just something you see—it's a place where history comes alive around you.

 

After the fort, the day is yours to enjoy lunch and every minute crafting your own day - On your own, you can savor the world-famous Mackinac Island fudge, enjoy lunch on your own, and visit Marquette Park, the Butterfly Gardens, or the Mission Church for quiet reflection. With the convenience of the downtown inn, combined with the slow rhythm of the island, every day offers the perfect balance of adventure, comfort, and relaxation, creating a timeless escape that will leave lasting memories.

The next day, we pack up after a leisurely hot breakfast and return to our ferry across the straits and onto the mainland. We stretch and break for lunch on our own before we find ourselves back in familiar territory.
