The Ark Encounter is a full-size replica of the Bible's Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, this modern engineering marvel amazes visitors young and old. Ark Encounter is situated in beautiful Grant County in Williamstown, Kentucky. Nearby is the Creation Museum, which shows why God´s infallible Word, rather than man´s faulty assumptions, is the place to begin if we want to make sense of our world.
Other attractions include the Cathedral Basilica of Assumption, Findlay Market, BB Riverboat cruise, American Sign Museum, and the Shrine of Christ's Passion.
Wheelchairs ($12) and electric mobility scooters ($38) are available for rental at the Ark Encounter.
Day 1
This morning we gather to begin our journey through Wisconsin and into Ohio. We'll pause for a quick lunch before continuing our journey southward bound to our overnight lodging at the Holiday Inn Express, Covington, KY for the next four nights. Tonight, enjoy an included dinner at the nearby Hofbrauhaus for German specialties and Gemütlichkeit.
Day 2
We have a great day in store today. The highlight attraction is The Ark Encounter in Williamstown, KY. This is a full-sized replica of the largest wooden timber structure in the world. The fabled Ark is 510 feet long and more than 50 feet tall before the sail is added with hundreds of displays, including mock-ups of animal stalls, recreations of how Noah and his family may have lived, and even an animatronic version of Noah. It offers the same quality as Universal Studios and is ONE OF A KIND IN THE WORLD. Tonight, we dine at Rafferty's.
B, DDay 3
This morning we tour the Cathedral Basilica of Assumption in Covington, modeled after the Notre Dame in Paris. Next up we visit the American Sign Museum, home to neon signs of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Findlay Market is our next stop where we get a guided 'tour and a treat' of this amazing farmer's market. After a freshen-up break at the hotel, we board the BB Riverboat for an included dinner.
B, DDay 4
This morning it's a pleasant drive to the Creation Museum. The 75,000-square-foot facility allows visitors to experience earth history as God has revealed it in the Bible. Nearly 150 exhibits feature fearsome animatronic dinosaurs, talking heroes of the faith, and professional displays that honor God´s Word. The museum also boasts a fun-filled, 200-seat special effects theater, a state-of-the-art planetarium, a petting zoo and several nature trails. Enjoy an included lunch while at the museum. Tonight, we tour MainStrasse Village, home to hundreds of Italianate homes.
B, LDay 5
Our final touring day is upon us. We're soon back on the coach making our way towards home. A final stop will be made at enthralling Shrine of Christ's Passion. This multi-media interactive, half-mile winding Prayer Trail depicts the last days of Jesus Christ's life. Forty life-size bronze sculptures in a tranquil setting, complete with beautiful music and amazingly sculptured gardens allow visitors to experience the story of the crucifixion and resurrection as never before.
