The Ark Encounter features a full-size replica of Noah’s Ark—an awe-inspiring structure built to the dimensions described in the ancient story. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, this remarkable attraction showcases the craftsmanship and imagination behind one of history’s most famous tales. Located in scenic Grant County, Williamstown, Kentucky, it’s paired perfectly with a visit to the nearby Creation Museum, which offers thought-provoking exhibits on the origins of life and the natural world according to the bible.
Round out your trip with visits to other regional highlights, including the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, Findlay Market, a BB Riverboat cruise, the American Sign Museum, and the Shrine of Christ’s Passion.
Wheelchairs ($12) and electric mobility scooters ($38) are available for rental at the Ark Encounter.
Day 1
This morning we gather to begin our journey through Wisconsin and into Ohio. We'll pause for a quick lunch before continuing our journey southward bound to our overnight lodging at the Holiday Inn Express, Covington, KY for the next four nights. Tonight, enjoy an included dinner at the nearby Hofbrauhaus for German specialties and Gemütlichkeit.
DDay 2
We have a great day in store! The highlight attraction is The Ark Encounter in Williamstown, KY. This is a full-sized replica of the largest wooden timber structure in the world. The fabled Ark is 510 feet long and more than 50 feet tall before the sail is added with hundreds of displays, including mock-ups of animal stalls, recreations of how Noah and his family may have lived, and even an animatronic version of Noah. Tonight, we dine at Rafferty's.
B, L, DDay 3
This morning we tour the Cathedral Basilica of Assumption in Covington, modeled after the Notre Dame in Paris. Next up we visit the American Sign Museum, home to neon signs of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Findlay Market is our next stop, where we get a guided 'tour and a treat' of this amazing farmer's market. After a freshen-up break at the hotel, we board the BB Riverboat for an included dinner.
B, DDay 4
This morning, enjoy a scenic drive to the Creation Museum, a 75,000-square-foot attraction featuring nearly 150 engaging exhibits that explore the story of Earth’s beginnings according to the Bible. Highlights include lifelike animatronic dinosaurs, immersive displays, a special effects theater, a planetarium, a petting zoo, and peaceful nature trails. Enjoy an included lunch during your visit. This evening, take a guided tour of MainStrasse Village, known for its charming Italianate architecture and welcoming atmosphere.
Day 5
On our final day of touring, we’ll begin our journey home with one last memorable stop at the Shrine of the Christ’s Passion. This captivating multimedia attraction features a half-mile winding trail lined with forty life-size bronze sculptures set among beautifully landscaped gardens. Peaceful music and striking artistry create an immersive and reflective experience that leaves a lasting impression.
