Mackinac Island Reflections

4 Days / 3 Nights

This small island is accessible only by ferry bringing visitors back in time since no motorized vehicles are allowed. Unforgettable sunsets, the clip-clop of horses plus timeless charm from a bygone era lives on at this very popular summer destination.

Day 1

We look forward to stepping back in time on delightful Mackinac Island. As we travel north, the rolling farmlands of Wisconsin soon give way to the hardwood forests of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It’s not long before we arrive in Mackinaw City and our first overnight at the Hamilton Inn.

Day 2

This morning board the ferry that will take us across the Straits of Mackinac to our island home for the next two nights. Begin your visit with a narrated carriage tour to view the island’s many points of interest including Skull Cave, Arch Rock, Surrey Hill and Historic Market Street. Photo fans will be delighted with the scenery and picture opportunities during this leisurely horse-drawn excursion. This afternoon we dine in elegance at the world-renowned Grand Hotel. The remainder of the day is free for exploring old-fashioned Main Street on our own. Don’t forget to try some famous Mackinac Island fudge. The Grand Hotel will be our accommodations while on the island.
