Niagara Thunder

Day 1 : Maumee, OH

Join Lamers as we motor east to the beauty and majesty of Niagara Falls. We first make our way across the Midwest with our usual stretch and meal breaks. Tonight, finds us in the Toledo, OH for our overnight stay.

Day 2: Niagara Falls

After an included breakfast at the hotel, our travels continue into the very western edge of New York state and continue along the Lake Erie shoreline. We break at the original Anchor Bar for an included lunch in Buffalo, New York. After lunch, we stop at the Made in America Store, this is the nation's only 100% USA-made brick & mortar store. It has over 9,000 products from 500+ manufacturers that are guaranteed to be made in America! Next, Vidler's 5 & 10 for some nostoligc and unique shopping!

This evening, we check into our accommodations for the next three nights at the Holiday Inn Niagara Falls, located on the New York/ USA side.

Day 3: Niagara Falls

After a hot breakfast, we begin our exploring of the region, including The Observation Deck which extends out dramatically over Niagara Gorge is an architectural wonder with unobstructed views of the wild cascading waters of Niagara Falls, as well as the raging whitewater below. Today, we have a professional guide to show us the sites of this great region. We then descend on the adjacent elevator to the dock of the favorite Niagara Falls attraction for more than 150 years. Next, we marvel at the beautiful plantings and the amazing Floral Clock. The intricate designs on the face of this floral masterpiece are created with thousands of bedding plants and changed out twice each year.

The Maid of the Mist cruise journey begins with donning your souvenir rain poncho and boarding the double-deck tour boat. From there, the boat ferries pass the base of the American Falls, and onto the basin of Horseshoe Falls as this dramatic passage leads you through roiling whitewater and massive rock formations.

Lunch today is included overlooking the Falls at the Sheraton Fallsview restaurant. A fantastic day well-spent with your professional local guide.

Day 4: Niagara Falls

Your local guide will join us again, taking us on a tour of the White Water Walk and then we head out on a short drive to quaint, Victorian Niagara-on-the-Lake. Nestled just beyond the falls, this picturesque town epitomizes old world charm. It's bordered by arbor-framed streets and lush boulevard gardens plus hear the clip-clop of horses as carriages go by.
After our tour it's time for lunch and shopping on your own in the historic district. The Niagara Apothecary is an authentic museum restoration of an 1869 pharmacy as part of a practice that operated in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, from 1820-1964.

Next, a scenic drive to Peller Estates Winery for a tour and tasting. This area of New York state is home to a burgeoning wine region. The cool climate and rolling hills and valleys make for a one-of-a-kind terroir and is home to small and large producers alike, with numerous varieties of grapes.

Our last evening in Niagara is a special one. We have an included dinner with incredible views at the famous Skyline Tower. A truly special evening and memory to be had!

Day 5: Maumee, OH

Time to pack our bags for the journey out of Niagara.

But first, we take a journey back in time with a trip down the Erie Canal. Enjoy the scenery of the Mohawk valley as you cruise the calm waters of the Erie Canal. Pass through massive guard gates, see one of the oldest surviving churches in New York State, catch a glimpse of local birds, your Captain will point out things along the way on this 90-minute tour.

After we sail the canal, we make way back west for an included lunch at the Hofbrauhaus in Cleveland, Ohio. Followed by an included visit of the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, we motor to our final rest tonight in Maumee, Ohio. On our own, we are free to enjoy the local amenities and nearby eateries at the Hampton Inn Toledo-South/ Maumee.

Day 6: Home
