Your cruise isn't just about the scenery. You can also relax with a cocktail from the onboard bar while taking in the scenery and sharing the day's adventures with your fellow travelers.
Our journey also includes a visit to the National Mississippi River Aquarium & Museum, where you'll discover the fascinating wildlife and ecosystems found throughout the Mississippi River and its watershed. It's a wonderful complement to the cruise, giving you a closer look at the creatures, habitats, and natural environment that make this great river so special.
Before returning home, we'll make one final memorable stop at Starved Rock State Park in Illinois. Enjoy a guided tour of the historic Starved Rock Lodge, taking in its beautiful architecture and learning about the history of this treasured destination. Then sit down to an included luncheon at the historic lodge, surrounded by the natural beauty of the park. It's the perfect way to end our Mississippi River adventure before beginning our journey back to Wisconsin.

Day 1 - Le Claire
We make our way through Wisconsin enroute to the small river town of Le Claire, IA. First, tour the Buffalo Bill Museum to learn more about this bigger-than-life western character and his humble beginnings here in his hometown of LeClaire. This evening you enjoy free time for dinner on your own before turning in for the night here in LeClaire at the Holiday Inn Express.
Day 2 - Dubuque
This morning, after breakfast and check-out, we'll board our coach and transfer to the Riverboat Twilight for our delightful two-day excursion up the legendary Mississippi River. A continental breakfast awaits you upon boarding as the grand paddlewheel begins its graceful journey upstream, carrying us through the timeless beauty and storied waters of America's heartland.
Enjoy lunch and dinner served at your reserved table by the friendly crew while you take in ever-changing scenery-shallow marshes teeming with wildlife, majestic palisades, and towering cliffs as we cruise toward Iowa's historic mining country. Along the way, the captain will share stories of the river, point out sights of interest, and explain the fascinating process of "locking through" as we pass the locks and dams.
Each afternoon brings onboard entertainment, featuring talented folk musicians, humorists, and perhaps even a surprise visit from Mark Twain himself! Between activities, you can browse the gift shop, sip your favorite cocktail in the lounge, or simply relax and watch the river roll by.
As evening approaches, we'll dock in Dubuque, Iowa, where a guided nighttime trolley tour awaits. Sit back and enjoy the ride as we explore the charm and history of Downtown Dubuque, beautifully illuminated under the evening sky. Afterward, we'll check into the elegant and historic Hotel Julien Dubuque, where you can unwind and enjoy a peaceful night's rest surrounded by timeless comfort and classic charm.
Day 3 - Le Claire
This morning, with trolley transportation included, enjoy a leisurely morning to explore the National Mississippi River Aquarium & Museum, conveniently located adjacent to our hotel. Discover fascinating exhibits on river wildlife, history, and the vital role the Mississippi has played in shaping the region.
Afterward, we reboard the Riverboat Twilight for another day of adventure and history along the mighty Mississippi. As we head downstream, enjoy the lively company of river barges, houseboats, pleasure craft, and workboats navigating the third-largest river system in the world. Imagine the Mississippi as it once was-a bustling highway for French traders, fur trappers, and European settlers in the 18th century.
Continental breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks are served throughout the day, accompanied by onboard entertainment and activities to keep spirits high and smiles wide.
Late in the afternoon, we return to Le Claire, Iowa, where our Lamers coach will be waiting to transfer us to the nearby Holiday Inn Express for a final relaxing night of rest.
Day 4 - Home
This morning, we begin our journey home. Traveling through the scenic countryside of Illinois, we make a stop at the stunning Starved Rock State Park, where towering sandstone canyons and waterfalls showcase the natural beauty of the region.
We enjoy an included luncheon in the park's historic lodge, served in its charming main dining room, offering a perfect opportunity to relax and reflect on the journey.
Continuing north into Wisconsin, we bid farewell to our fellow travelers as we return home, carrying with us wonderful memories of the Riverboat Twilight and the mighty Mississippi River-a journey of scenic beauty, history, and timeless riverboat charm.
