Weekend Getaway - St. George Island

This four-day, ‘Old Florida’ Getaway, offers a refreshing change of scenery and connection with nature, embracing the opportunity for you to kick-back in the unspoiled paradise with glistening turquoise water and miles of uncrowded white-sand beaches and no high-rises. St George Island is a rare gem!

The 22-mile barrier island is located in the Apalachicola region of Florida’s Panhandle. Lodging for your Getaway is the charming, vintage Buccaneer Inn hotel conveniently located within walking distance of local restaurants and shops, or you can rent a golf cart. The Buccaneer is the only beachfront hotel on St George Island. Three breakfasts, one lunch, and one dinner are included in tour. Breakfast location is a 7-minute walk from hotel.

Day 1

Relax, Rejuvenate, Re-energize, Renew! Embrace the laid-back pace, unspoiled nature, and sugar-white sand beaches of St George Island, a 22-mile barrier island located off the Florida Panhandle. Your weekend getaway is a blend of mellow leisurely activities, amazing scenic views and lively local experiences.

Our first stop is Wakulla Springs State Park where we will embark on a 45-55 minute boat tour with a box-lunch included. Leaving the Azalea picnic pavilion, we drive East to your beachfront accommodations at The Buccaneer Inn, Eastpoint FL. The Buccaneer is conveniently located within walking distance of local restaurants and shops. Dinner is on your own Thursday evening. The stunning colorful hues of the setting sun provide an excellent opportunity for photos.
