This 10-day journey from the Midwest to the coast of Maine blends classic New England scenery, historic seaside villages, and immersive experiences in Acadia National Park.
Travel comfortably aboard a deluxe motor coach with a professional licensed driver and an experienced Tour Director who brings each stop to life with local insight and included tours with local guides. Your route east includes a visit to the thundering majesty of Niagara Falls before continuing to Maine's iconic shoreline, where pine forests meet rugged granite cliffs and lighthouses stand watch over working harbors. Along the coast, explore the charm of York, Kennebunkport, Boothbay Harbor, Bar Harbor, and Ogunquit. Enjoy guided sightseeing as well as free time to wander, shop, or relax by the water.
In Acadia National Park, stand at the dramatic shores of Thunder Hole, take in sweeping views from Cadillac Mountain-one of the first places in the U.S. to see the sunrise-and cruise across Frenchman's Bay on a narrated nature tour, watching for bald eagles, seals, and other coastal wildlife.
Throughout the tour, savor the flavors that define New England: fresh lobster, hearty chowders, and local coastal cuisine. Highlights include a visit to Walker's Point, the beloved Bush Family retreat; world-class museums; the whimsical world of Norman Rockwell; and a stop at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Evenings bring memorable entertainment, from the high-energy Great Maine Lumberjack Show to a Broadway-caliber performance at the historic Ogunquit Playhouse.
With a relaxed yet enriching pace, this tour combines natural beauty, historic charm, coastal culture, and warm camaraderie-offering a Maine experience you'll remember long after the journey home.

DAY 1: Maumee
Your adventure begins as we travel eastward, leaving the familiar landscapes of the Midwest and rolling toward the bustling mosaic of Chicago. In historic Little Italy, stroll past old-world bakeries and brick storefronts as savory aromas drift from our first stop, where you'll enjoy lunch on your own.
As afternoon light softens, we continue through changing scenery, flat farmland shifting to forested corridors, before reaching Maumee, Ohio. With restaurants just steps from the hotel, tonight's dinner is yours to choose. Settle in, relax, and rest up for the scenic days ahead.
DAY 2: Rochester, NY
After included breakfast, our wheels turn toward Buffalo, New York, where lunch at the legendary Anchor Bar immerses us in culinary history "the birthplace of the original Buffalo Wing."
Just when your taste buds have recovered, we make a memorable stop at Niagara Falls. Feel the mist on your skin, hear the thunderous roar, and marvel at the power of nature as billions of gallons tumble over the edge.
This evening, we settle into the Hampton Inn Rochester/Victor, surrounded by lush greenery and small-town charm. Dinner is on our own tonight.
DAY 3: York, ME
Today brings us into New England, where pine forests grow thicker and clapboard houses appear along the roadside. Crossing into Maine, the scent of ocean brine and distant evergreens signals our arrival at the Anchorage Inn in York- our seaside home for two nights.
This afternoon we venture out to Nubble Light, perched dramatically atop a rocky outcrop, waves licking the boulders below. The lighthouse has stood vigil since 1879, its white tower glowing against the Atlantic horizon. Off in the distance lies the isolated silhouette of Boon Island Lighthouse, rising starkly from the sea.
Tonight, celebrate Maine’s coastal culture with an included Lobster Choice Dinner, complete with buttery sides, fresh rolls, and the unmistakable joy of cracking open a bright-red Maine lobster.
DAY 4: York, ME
Wake to salt-tinged breezes and enjoy breakfast before meeting our local guide, whose stories bring to life the maritime soul of Kennebunkport and Kennebunk. Hear tales of sea captains and shipbuilders as we drive past historic cottages, pristine beaches, and the whimsical Wedding Cake House, as ornate as frosting on a confection.
We follow the curve of Ocean Avenue, where surf splashes against rugged rocks, and glimpse the Bush Family Summer Home at Walker’s Point—a postcard scene of American coastal tradition.
Later, enjoy free time to lunch, browse boutiques, or wander Dock Square’s galleries at your own pace.
In the afternoon, we board a classic vessel for our Maine Lobstering Cruise, a true highlight. Watch lobstermen haul traps from the deep, hold a live lobster if you wish, and drift past seabird colonies, seals basking on rocks, and weathered coastal estates.
Dinner tonight is included at a local favorite—warm hospitality guaranteed.
DAY 5: Bar Harbor ME
This morning after breakfast, we travel up the coast to charming Boothbay Harbor, a village where fishing boats bob in a sheltered bay dotted with islands. At the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, your guided tour reveals winding woodland paths, fragrant herb gardens, interactive children’s gardens, and sweeping waterfront trails where the light dances through birch and spruce.
Afterward, enjoy free time for lunch overlooking the harbor. Perhaps savoring chowder on a patio and explore the local galleries and shops. The wooden footbridge stretching across the harbor is a photographer’s delight, offering views of lobster boats slipping quietly by.
This afternoon, we continue to Bar Harbor, gateway to Acadia National Park, stopping along the way for a surprise sweet treat- a little taste of Maine hospitality.
Our home for the next two nights is the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel, overlooking serene Frenchman’s Bay.
Tonight, enjoy an included dinner at the resort, an ideal chance to unwind after a day of exploration.
DAY 6: Bar Harbor ME
After a fuel up breakfast, today begins on the water aboard the Acadian Nature Cruise, gliding across Frenchman’s Bay as gulls wheel overhead. Keep your camera ready!! Spot eagles perched on high branches, seals sun on rocky outcrops, and porpoises may crest through the waves. The boat passes near Egg Rock Lighthouse, a sentinel surrounded by teeming wildlife. A delicious boxed lunch is provided on board.
Back in Bar Harbor, enjoy leisure time to stroll the Shore Path, visit boutiques, or simply sit with an ice cream overlooking the harbor’s sparkling water.
In the afternoon, we meet our local guide for an in-depth tour of Acadia National Park. Travel the scenic Park Loop Road, stand atop Cadillac Mountain, where the winds carry the scent of spruce and the sea - and feel the thunderous pulse of nature at Thunder Hole, where waves explode into a rocky cavern.
Tonight’s early Lobster Choice Dinner prepares us for a lively evening at the Great Maine Lumberjack Show. Watch as skilled competitors climb towering logs, toss axes with precision, race crosscut saws, and spin atop floating logs in a blur of athleticism and humor.
DAY 7: Ogunquit ME
After breakfast, we journey to Bath, a historic shipbuilding town perched along the Kennebec River. At the Maine Maritime Museum, wander among historic shipyard buildings, climb aboard exhibits, and learn how centuries of craftsmanship shaped Maine’s identity.
An included lunch at a local favorite brings authentic regional flavor to the day.
From here, we head to the beloved town of Ogunquit, whose name means "beautiful place by the sea", and it lives up to every letter.
At the Meadowmere Resort, enjoy leisure time to explore the property’s amenities before an included dinner at another local gem.
Tonight, settle into your seat at the iconic Ogunquit Playhouse, known for star-studded performances and Broadway-caliber productions. This historic theatre has charmed visitors for generations. (Show title announced when the 2026 season is released.)
DAY 8: Rochester NY
Begin the day with a warm, home-style breakfast at Jonathan’s Restaurant before we begin our return journey.
In Stockbridge, MA, step into the nostalgic world of Norman Rockwell at the museum dedicated to his life and work. View iconic paintings, personal artifacts, and the studio where he crafted so many beloved American images.
We then continue westward to Rochester, NY for a restful overnight stay.
DAY 9: Maumee OH
After breakfast, we head into Ohio for an included lunch and our visit to the legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Interactive exhibits, rare artifacts, and music that shaped generations await as you walk through the evolution of rock history.
Tonight, we return to the Hampton Inn Maumee for our final overnight of the tour. Dinner is on our own, from the many restaurants available within walking distance from our accommodations.
DAY 10: Home
After an included hot breakfast, we board the coach one last time as we retrace the path westward.
Now, as the miles pass beneath us, the tour comes full circle. What began as a simple departure has become a shared adventure - new friends, new stories, and unforgettable glimpses of Coastal Maine’s soul.
With one last stretch of road ahead, we head home brimming with fresh memories, windswept moments, and the unmistakable peace of the ocean that still seems to linger in our ears. Thank you for traveling with us.
