Every mile brings another chapter of America to life. Youll explore the legacy of President McKinley at his Presidential Library and Monument, stand inside the home of Ida Saxton McKinley at the First Ladies National Historic Site, and honor our aviation heroes at the MAPS Air Museum. From incredible carvings at the David Warther Museum to the powerful WWII stories at the Dennison Depotwhere over a million servicemen passed throughyoull be immersed in the triumphs, trials, and triumphal spirit of our nation. Even the food tells a story, with stops like Benders Tavern, Walnut Creek Cheese, and hearty Amish Country cooking adding rich flavor to your journey.
But the most unforgettable memories will come when the music rises and patriotism fills the air. Feel the energy of the 70-member Dominic Greco Band, whose century-long legacy of musical excellence celebrates Americas roots. Be moved by Vane Scotts Salute to Old Glory, a heartfelt tribute to the Stars and Stripes, and be dazzled by the Dave Banks Big Band USO Showa full 17-piece orchestra honoring six decades of American music and paying a stirring salute to our Veterans. These performances dont just entertainthey uplift, inspire, and leave your heart glowing red, white, and blue.

Day 1: Maumee
Get ready for a red, white, and blue escape on NE Ohio – Salute to America!, our special Bicentennial edition tour celebrating the spirit, history, and pride of our nation.
Filled with live entertainment, meaningful historic moments, and plenty of opportunities to reflect on what makes America special, this journey delivers patriotic fun from beginning to end.
Today, meet your fellow travelers and depart for Maumee aboard a comfortable Lamers motorcoach. You’ll be greeted by your professional driver and friendly tour director before settling in for our eastbound journey. Enjoy a lunch stop on your own and regular rest breaks along the way.
This evening, arrive at the Hampton Inn in Maumee and check in for a relaxing overnight stay, resting up for an exciting day ahead.
Day 2: Wilmot, OH
After breakfast, we continue east into Cleveland for a visit to the legendary West Side Market, the oldest marketplace of its kind in the U.S. since 1912. Explore international foods, mouthwatering pastries, meats, cheeses, spices, and more! Enjoy lunch on your own - choose from the market eateries or the surrounding Ohio City neighborhood, home to favorites like Great Lakes Brewing Company, TownHall, and Mitchell’s Ice Cream. This vibrant district is truly a hidden Cleveland treasure.
Next, we make a meaningful visit to Lake View Cemetery, where a guide will lead us through the exquisite Tiffany-designed Wade Chapel, the majestic President James A. Garfield Monument, and the resting places of John D. Rockefeller, Eliot Ness, and many more among the cemetery’s 115,000 sites.
This afternoon we head to The Amish Door Village in Wilmot, Ohio for our fabulous 3-night stay. Enjoy the spacious guest rooms, indoor pool, hot tub, outdoor patio with firepits, and beautiful country surroundings.
Feeling refreshed, we depart for the Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas. Enjoy dinner and a stirring patriotic performance by the Dominic Greco Band, a 70-member ensemble of community professionals, from doctors to teachers, performing together for over 100 years. Their show features patriotic favorites and classic American grassroots music. We return to the Inn around 8:30 PM.
Day 3: Wilmot, OH
Our first stop is the William McKinley Presidential Library & Museum, a fascinating look into the life, presidency, and legacy of our 25th President. Explore exhibits on America’s growth during McKinley’s era, view artifacts from the Gilded Age, and learn how his leadership shaped the nation at the turn of the century. We then visit the impressive McKinley National Memorial, where President and First Lady Ida McKinley rest beneath one of Ohio’s most iconic monuments.
From here, we travel to the National First Ladies Historic Site, where we step inside the beautifully restored Victorian home of Ida Saxton McKinley. During the guided tour, learn the remarkable stories of America’s First Ladies, their advocacy, their influence behind the scenes, and how they helped shape American culture and policy throughout history.
Next, we enjoy lunch at Bender’s Tavern, Canton’s most historic restaurant. For over a century, Bender’s has welcomed presidents, celebrities, and travelers alike. Its old-world charm and exceptional cuisine make this a truly memorable midday stop.
This afternoon we head to the MAPS Museum (Military Aviation Preservation Society), an extraordinary collection of restored aircraft and aviation artifacts. Walk among historic planes, explore the Gallery of Heroes honoring those who served, and visit the impressive replica Medic's Corner, offering a vivid look at the medical side of military history. Veterans and history-lovers alike will find this experience powerful and engaging.
We return to the Inn for a refreshing break - time to relax, dip in the pool, enjoy the peaceful countryside, or freshen up before the evening’s festivities.
At 6 PM we stroll next door to the Milana Ballroom at the Amish Door Restaurant for a lively celebration dinner complete with birthday cake and party favors. Tonight’s entertainment features Vane Scott’s "Salute to Old Glory", an uplifting and dynamic performance tracing the incredible history of the American flag. Through storytelling, music, and patriotic pride, Vane Scott brings the Stars and Stripes to life in a way that is both educational and deeply moving.
After this heartwarming salute to our nation, we return to the Inn to rest up for another exciting day.
Day 4: Wilmot, OH
After breakfast, we depart for the David Warther Carvings Museum in Sugarcreek. David Warther, 5th generation carver and grandson of world master carver Mooney Warther, creates exquisite ivory sailing ships, including iconic American warships. Enjoy time to browse the remarkable collection and shop for the famous Warther Cutlery.
Next, we travel to the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum, the last home-front Salvation Army canteen from WWII. Tour restored railcars and learn why over a million servicemen passing through gave Dennison the nickname "Dreamsville USA." Lunch is included at the Depot.
This afternoon brings a fun stop at Walnut Creek Cheese, offering bulk foods, spices, jams, jellies, candies, baked goods, meats, cheeses, and more. A scoop of their famous ice cream is included - taste it and decide for yourself if it’s the best in the country!
After shopping and a break at the Inn, we head to Der Dutchman Restaurant at the Carlisle Inn Walnut Creek for a delicious Amish Kitchen style buffet supper.
Tonight’s entertainment is a highlight: the "Dave Banks Big Band USO Show - America Remembers! " at the Amish Country Theatre. Enjoy music spanning six decades performed by a 17-piece orchestra with vocalists and a heartfelt Veterans tribute. This 2-hour performance (with a 15-minute intermission) is the perfect patriotic finale to our stay.
Return to the Inn with hearts full of pride.
Day 5: Home
After breakfast, it’s - bags out - as we prepare for our journey home. We make one final stop before heading west, with time for lunch and stretch breaks along the way.
