The most famous train in Christmas history -The Polar Express - last appeared at the Gaylord Palms' ICE! in 2019. The full-size, ice-sculpted locomotive engine is rolling back to Gaylord Palms this year by popular demand. Forty master ice artisans from Harbin, China are traveling over 7,000 miles to spend over a month hand carving two million pounds of ice blocks into characters and scenes from the movie. Guests entering the chilly 9-degree Fahrenheit attraction will receive Gaylord Palms' signature blue parkas.
Note: Additional winter clothing is also recommended.
The Polar Express transforms iconic moments and beloved scenes from the story about Hero Boy (Chris) and his journey to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.
Also returning are five two-story tall, hand-carved ice slides representing Glacier Gulch. Additional activities include ice tubing on Snow Flow Mountain, Snowball Build & Blast, a new Christmas carousel, photos with Santa, holiday displays throughout the atrium, shopping at Market Square, and Cirque's holiday performance.
