Gatornationals Drag Racing

The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Gatornationals is one of drag racing’s most iconic events, held each March at Florida’s historic Gainesville Raceway. Known for its blistering speeds, thunderous horsepower, and spectacular nitro flames, this race delivers non-stop excitement from start to finish. Gainesville Raceway is widely recognized as one of the fastest tracks on the NHRA circuit.

 

Reserved seating is located near the starting line of the quarter-mile track, placing you right in the heart of the action. The Midway opens at 8:00 a.m., offering food, merchandise, and interactive displays.

 

On Sunday, watch the thrilling elimination rounds featuring Top Fuel dragsters—powered by supercharged nitromethane engines that rocket from 0 to 330 mph in under four seconds. After nearly every run, teams completely rebuild the engine and clutch, working against the clock with approximately 75 minutes between passes.

 

Also competing are the fan-favorite Funny Cars, known for their wide bodies, immense power, and notoriously “twitchy” driving style that demands extreme precision from the driver.

Soft-sided coolers (maximum size 14" x 14" x 14") containing non-alcoholic beverages are permitted.

Lamers’ coach departs the Raceway at 5:00 p.m.

 

 

 

 

Be advised that the bus will be stopping at all three pick-up points (Wildwood, Inverness and Ocala) for this and all tours.
