Cheyenne Frontier Days & Western Trails

July 25 - 31, 2027

7 DAYS | 6 NIGHTS

Cheyenne Frontier Days is one of the biggest and most iconic celebrations of the American West. Held annually in Cheyenne, Wyoming, it brings together world-class rodeo action, live music, parades, carnival rides, and classic Western traditions. Known as the “Daddy of ’em All,” this legendary event has been thrilling crowds since 1897. But this isn't simply a trip to a rodeo — it's a seven-day journey into the heart of the American West, filled with history, adventure, fascinating people, memorable places, great food, and plenty of Western spirit. From Wisconsin to Wyoming and back again, the journey is part of the experience.

There’s something magical about the American West in summer — endless blue skies, golden prairie grasses waving in the breeze, the sound of horses nearby, and a little bit of cowboy spirit in the air. Imagine following the trails of pioneers and railroad builders, discovering the stories of legendary figures like Buffalo Bill, and experiencing the places that helped shape a growing nation.

Along the way, we'll explore The Archway and the story of westward expansion, visit Buffalo Bill, stand at the historic Golden Spike, discover the remarkable story of Boys Town, and explore the Union Pacific Railroad Museum. For history lovers, every stop adds another chapter to the story of America; for adventure lovers, every mile brings a new landscape, a new experience, and another reason to look out the window. And then… there’s Cheyenne. Imagine the sound of hooves pounding the arena floor, the roar of the crowd, the twang of country music drifting through the air, and the unmistakable energy of cowboys and cowgirls getting ready for the ride of their lives. At Cheyenne Frontier Days, you'll feel the excitement of a true Western celebration all around you. Watch bull riding, barrel racing, and bronc riding from your covered grandstand seat, wander through the Morning Star American Indian Village, experience authentic Native American dances, browse handcrafted treasures, admire Western art and historic carriages, and take a nostalgic stroll through the Carnival Midway. Then experience the Grand Parade as magnificent horses, colorful floats, marching bands, and Western pride fill the streets of Cheyenne. From the first cheer to the last dance, there’s always something happening.

But this adventure is about more than watching — it's about being part of the experience. Enjoy a traditional Indian taco, gather around for a hearty Chuckwagon Dinner on the park grounds, visit with locals, browse for handcrafted Western treasures, and soak up the atmosphere of a town that knows how to celebrate its heritage. You'll have plenty of opportunities to explore on your own, too. Maybe you'll dance to live music, search for that perfect souvenir, enjoy a Frontier Nights concert, or simply find a comfortable spot to sit back and watch the world go by. You set your own pace, choosing the experiences that make the trip special for you.

And getting there is part of the fun. Sit back and enjoy the journey aboard a luxury motorcoach with a professional driver and tour director, while the details are handled for you. Enjoy comfortable overnight stays, included meals, convenient stretch breaks, and fascinating stops along the way. There's no need to navigate unfamiliar highways, worry about parking, or plan every detail — just settle into your seat, watch the scenery change, and enjoy the company of fellow travelers who are ready for a great adventure. This is a tour for the curious, the adventurous, the history lovers, the rodeo fans, and anyone who simply loves to travel. It's a chance to see more than one destination and experience more than one event. You'll follow historic trails, discover stories from America's past, experience the excitement of one of the country's greatest Western celebrations, and make memories along the way. By the time we turn east toward home, you'll have experienced far more than Cheyenne Frontier Days — you'll have experienced a piece of the American West.

DAY 4: Cheynne

After an included breakfast, we're ready for a full day of western excitement! Today brings some of the most memorable experiences of Cheyenne Frontier Days, and we've planned the day so you can enjoy the action in comfort. We'll explore the newly expanded Morning Star American Indian Village, where you can take a seat in the sunken dance arbor and experience authentic Native American dances, browse the work of tribal vendors, and discover the traditions and artistry represented throughout the village. You'll also have the opportunity to try a traditional Indian taco lunch from one of the village vendors.

Then it's time for the PRCA ProRodeo Main Event! Feel the excitement as the cowboys and cowgirls take center stage for heart-pounding action including bull riding, barrel racing, and bronc riding. Your tour includes covered grandstand seating for shade and sun protection, so you can sit back, stay comfortable, and cheer on the competitors.

After the rodeo, we'll explore the Old West Museum & Carnival, located right on the park grounds. Step inside to admire its world-class collection of carriages, Western art, and historic treasures that bring the story of the American West to life. Then take a nostalgic stroll through the adjacent Carnival Midway and enjoy the sights, sounds, and colorful atmosphere of this classic Frontier Days tradition. Tonight, we'll gather for an authentic Chuckwagon Dinner on the park grounds.

After dinner, the evening is yours! If you're ready for even more entertainment, you're free to book a Frontier Nights concert and see some of the biggest stars under the Cheyenne sky. Or, if you've had your fill of western excitement, simply head back to the hotel, relax, and enjoy a peaceful evening. It's your vacation, and tonight you can enjoy Cheyenne exactly the way you want.

DAY 5: Lincoln

After an included breakfast, we'll make our way to one of the signature traditions of Cheyenne Frontier Days - the Grand Parade! Watch as colorful floats, magnificent horses, western riders, bands, and plenty of Old West spirit fill the streets of Cheyenne. It's a wonderful way to wrap up our time in this legendary western town and experience the community spirit that makes Frontier Days so special.

Following the parade, we'll enjoy some free time in Cheyenne, with lunch on your own and the opportunity to browse for those last western treasures, grab a bite to eat, revisit a favorite spot, or simply take in the sights and sounds of this unforgettable celebration. Later, we'll board our luxury motorcoach and begin our journey east toward Lincoln, Nebraska.

This evening, we'll enjoy dinner at Screamers in Lincoln, a fun and memorable dining experience before settling in for the evening. After dinner, we'll check into our hotel and relax after another wonderful day of western adventure.

B, D

DAY 6: Des Moines

After an included breakfast, we'll depart and begin our journey home, but not before making a special stop at Boys Town. We'll enjoy a guided tour and learn about the remarkable history, mission, and legacy of this nationally recognized community. You'll have time to explore and discover more about the people and stories that have made Boys Town such an important part of American history.

We'll then enjoy lunch on your own at the Boys Town cafeteria before continuing east. Our next stop takes us to the Union Pacific Railroad Museum in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where we'll take a break from the road and explore the fascinating history of the railroad and its role in connecting communities and shaping the American West. It's a fitting final attraction after the railroad history we've experienced earlier in our journey.

From Council Bluffs, we'll continue on to Des Moines, where we'll make our final overnight stop. Enjoy a relaxing evening and reflect on the incredible sights, stories, and memories we've collected along the way.

DAY 7: Home

After breakfast, we'll depart Des Moines and begin the final leg of our journey home. We'll make a few convenient stretch breaks along the way, giving everyone a chance to get out, stretch their legs, and enjoy the ride. Lunch will be on your own today, with time to choose something that sounds good along the way.

As we travel east, the miles roll by and the western adventure slowly fades into the rearview mirror. Somewhere along the way, we'll realize we're no longer in Cheyenne - but we'll still be carrying a little bit of that western spirit with us. Before we know it, we'll be back in Wisconsin with new stories, great memories, and hopefully a few new friends from the trail.

It's time to say farewell to Cheyenne, but not goodbye. Until the next rodeo!
