Driving Miss Daisy

Driving Miss Daisy, a timeless and heartfelt tale of friendship, understanding, and the passage of time, is coming soon to the Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theater.

Set in the American South from the 1940s to the 1970s, Alfred Uhry’s beloved play—and its acclaimed film adaptation—follows the evolving relationship between Daisy Werthan, an independent yet aging Jewish widow, and Hoke Colburn, her dignified and patient Black chauffeur.

Blending humor with deep emotion, this poignant drama explores themes of race, class, and companionship, making it a powerful and moving experience for audiences of all backgrounds. With its award-winning legacy—including the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and an Academy Award for Best Picture—Driving Miss Daisy remains as relevant and captivating as ever.

Lamers’ bus will arrive at Suncoast before the bountiful American-style buffet opens. Non-alcoholic beverages are included, with additional drinks available for purchase. Dessert will be served during the 15-minute intermission. The matinee performance begins at 1:30 p.m.

Please be advised that the bus will be stopping at all three pick-up points (Wildwood, Inverness and Ocala) for this and all tours.
