Christmas in the Mitten State

Day 1: Frankenmuth

We begin our festive adventure with pick-ups from your departure locations, boarding our comfortable motorcoach for the journey north. Along the way, we pause for lunch on your own at a local favorite restaurant, giving everyone a chance to stretch their legs and enjoy a tasty meal.
Continuing into the Eastern Time Zone and Michigan territory, the excitement builds as we approach our holiday destination.
Tonight, we check into the Drury Frankenmuth Hotel for a two-night stay, where you can relax, unwind, and prepare for the Bavarian charm and twinkling lights that await in the heart of Michigan’s "Little Bavaria."

Day 2: Frankenmuth

Our holiday adventure begins in the heart of Frankenmuth at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, the largest Christmas store in the world. We’ve set aside a full three hours to explore this massive holiday paradise, open 362 days a year, filled with twinkling ornaments, festive decorations, and holiday inspiration at every turn.
After a morning of shopping and sightseeing, we enjoy a true Frankenmuth tradition: lunch at the Bavarian Inn, where the aroma of freshly baked bread and savory meats fills the air. Guests indulge in the Ultimate Bavarian 5-Meat Feast with Frankenmuth Chicken, Kasseler Rippchen, Sauerbraten, Jäger Schnitzel, Bratwurst, plus homemade bread, noodle soup, crisp coleslaw, and three seasonal salads.
After this hearty meal, take some time to wander the grounds, visit the bakery, or explore the downstairs gift shop, soaking in the sights, scents, and sounds of this charming Bavarian village. In the afternoon, our knowledgeable tour guide leads us on a delightful journey through Frankenmuth’s highlights, beginning with the majestic St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, where soaring spires and intricate stained-glass windows capture the town’s heritage. Next, we visit the Frankenmuth Clock Company, discovering the artistry and craftsmanship of their famous timepieces. Our tour continues along Christmas Lane, where over 50,000 twinkling lights illuminate streets, storefronts, and trees, creating a sparkling holiday wonderland.
After this festive guided experience, we return to the Drury Frankenmuth for a cozy evening to relax, reflect on the day, and enjoy the Bavarian-like atmosphere at your own pace.

Day 3: Grand Rapids

After an included breakfast, we make our way west to Grand Rapids, arriving at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum to explore the life and times of President Gerald Ford. Inside, discover fascinating artifacts, memorabilia, and engaging exhibits that bring presidential history to life in an interactive and inspiring way.
From history to holiday cheer, we continue to the Grand Rapids Christkindl Markt, where charming wooden booths are filled with festive gifts, handcrafted treasures, and delicious seasonal foods from local vendors across the state. The scent of roasted nuts and warm cider fills the air as twinkling lights and holiday music create a true European-style Christmas atmosphere.
Next, we visit Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, where Christmastime transforms the botanical setting into a glowing winter showcase. Wander among beautifully decorated trees, lush indoor gardens, and seasonal displays that blend nature and holiday tradition. This evening, we gather for a group dinner at a local Italian favorite, enjoying hearty cuisine and warm conversation before returning to the Drury Grand Rapids for our overnight stay.

Day 4: Home Sweet

After breakfast, we depart Grand Rapids and begin our journey home, carrying with us the glow of twinkling lights and the warmth of Bavarian hospitality. We’ll make a comfortable break along the way for lunch on your own, giving everyone time to relax and reflect on the wonderful experiences we’ve shared.

From festive markets and sparkling displays to delicious meals and charming village streets, the memories made in the Mitten have never felt so magical. We return home filled with holiday spirit and cherished moments that will last well beyond the season.
