Enjoy three nights at the newly renovated Hilton Garden Inn in Shirlington, Virginia, along with relaxing overnight stays at the Drury Inn in Burlington, North Carolina, and Charlotte, North Carolina, during your travel days.
Highlights of your tour include a guided sightseeing tour of Washington, D.C., reserved seating for the National Cherry Blossom Parade, and time to enjoy the festival atmosphere along the Tidal Basin. Visit many of our nation's most treasured landmarks, including the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, National Mall, U.S. Capitol Building, and Arlington National Cemetery. You'll also tour historic Ford's Theatre and enjoy free time in charming Georgetown for sightseeing, shopping, and dining.
Your package includes five breakfasts, three lunches, and three dinners, along with all taxes, fees, and restaurant gratuities. (Gratuities for local guides and baggage handling are not included.)
The National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Japan to the United States as a symbol of friendship between the two nations. Day 1
Today is the day we have all been waiting for, we board Lamers comfortable bus to take us to Washington, D.C. for the National Cherry Blossom Festival. There will be rest stops along the way with the stop for lunch is the Golden Corral in Macon, Ga. After lunch we will travel to our hotel in Burlington, NC with comfort stopa along the way. Our hotel tonight is the Drury Plaza Hotel where hot hor dourves and a comfortable bed await our arrival.
L, DDay 2
After a hot breakfast we board the bus for Arlington, VA and our hotel for the next three nights, the Hilton Garden Inn, in The Village of Shirlington, Arlington, VA. We will board the bus to meet our Step On Guide for a drive by the Tidal Basin and the National Mall. After the tour dinner will be a the Spotted Zebra before returning to our hotel for the evening.
B, BRDay 3
After breakfast at the hotel we will board the bus for our reserved seats at the National Cherry Blossom Parade. After the parade the group will join the Cherry Blossom festival events at the Tiday Basin. Lunch today is on your own at the festival. At an agreed upon time the group will meet the bus for a visit to FDR, Lincoln and other memorials around the Tidal Basin. No trip to Washington isn't complete without a stop at Ford's Theater after which we will return to the hotel to freshen up before travelling to the Old Ebitt Grill for dinner.
B, DDay 4
After breakfasr at our hotel our group will travel to historic Georgetown for shopping, sightseeing and lunch on your own. In the afternoon the group will drive to the National Mall to visit monuments, museums and possibly the US Capitol Building. Dinner tonight is at the Centrolina Italian Restaurant before returning to the Cherry Blossom Festival for evening events and returning to our hotel for the night.
B, DDay 5
After breakfast at the hotel we will checkout of the hotel and board the bus for a drive to Arlington National Cemetery. After a tour of the cemetery we drive to the marina to board the boat for a Potomac River Monuments lunch tour. After our lunch we will leave Washington behind and begin our journey home. Our hotel for tonight is the Drury Inn in Birmington, North Carolina arriving in time for the evening Kick Back at our hotel.
B, L, DDay 6
After a hot breakfast at our hotel, we will board our bus for a comfortable ride back to Florida. There will be comfort stops and a stop for lunch along the way where you can share the highlights of your trip with the new friends you have made on your journey.
