The sounds & traditions of the ancient Celtic peoples are alive and celebrated in St Augustine.  Half of the city’s residents trace their ancestry back to Scotland, Ireland, Wales, or another Celtic nations.  St Augustine is America’s oldest Celtic City and hosts the country’s largest Celtic music festival.

There is a Bagpipe ‘jam’ session Saturday morning after the parade.  Food trucks are plentiful.  During the 2-day event, Celtic music is performed from Noon to closing.  Saturday bands include: Albannach/Pipes & Drum, Scottish Highlanders; Clover’s Revenge/acoustic pub & Celtic punk rock, Irish; Dublin City Ramblers/toe tappin’, ballads, folk, humor, Ireland; Screaming Orphans/all-sister Celtic folk & pop, Donegal, Ireland; SYR aka ‘Sire’/ Celtic folk rock, Colombia SC; Jamison/US-Irish; Seven Nations/American pop and rock ‘n roll, US-Canada.

Also, enjoy viewing the Highland games, a series of athletic competitions including Caber toss, Open stone put, Scottish weight throw, Braemer stone throw, and sheaf toss. Highland games trace back to King of Scots, Malcolm III.
