This carefully crafted itinerary blends faith, history, and fellowship, leaving you with memories to cherish for years to come.
Day 1:
This morning we gather to begin our journey and pause for a quick lunch before continuing southward to our overnight lodging at the Holiday Inn Express, Covington, KY, where we’ll be staying for the next four nights.
This evening, enjoy an included dinner at the nearby Hofbräuhaus, featuring traditional German specialties and warm Gemütlichkeit. Menu favorites may include Wiener Schnitzel or the Wurstplatte, followed by classic desserts like Black Forest Cake or Apple Strudel.
After dinner, return to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cincinnati Riverfront for a comfortable overnight stay, complete with an indoor pool, fitness center, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Day 2:
After an included breakfast at the hotel, we spend a full day at the Ark Encounter to enjoy at your own pace. Step aboard the life-size Noah’s Ark, where the smell of fresh wood and the gentle creak of massive beams make the story of Noah come alive. Wander through towering decks, marvel at the enormous animal models, and explore interactive exhibits that let you feel, touch, and even hear the biblical narrative. Take your time to admire the craftsmanship, snap memorable photos, and soak in the awe-inspiring scale of this incredible structure.
Lunch is included at Senior Emzara's Buffet, an award-winning restaurant offering a variety of delicious entrees, fresh salads, and decadent desserts - including options for food allergies.
This evening, we’ll shuttle to MainStrasse Village for dinner on your own and time to shop and explore. MainStrasse is a National Historic District, just a few blocks from the hotel. Some of our favorite spots include The Standard, a burger restaurant in a restored Standard Oil gas station; Otto’s, known for authentic Kentucky Hot Brown Sandwiches and Fried Green Tomatoes; or the Cock and Bull English Pub, where you can enjoy excellent Fish and Chips.
Afterward, return to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cincinnati Riverfront for a relaxing overnight stay.
Day 3:
After an included breakfast, we begin the day with a guided tour of the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, a stunning structure modeled after Notre Dame in Paris. Admire the soaring ceilings, intricate stained glass, and peaceful atmosphere that make this cathedral a true architectural gem.
Next, we visit the American Sign Museum, home to vibrant neon signs from the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. Take in the glow of vintage lights, bold colors, and retro designs as you stroll through decades of American signage history.
This afternoon, we enjoy a progressive lunch at Findlay Market, a lively farmers’ market brimming with fresh produce, baked goods, and artisanal foods. Guided along the market, you’ll sample a variety of treats and savor the aromas, flavors, and vibrant energy of this historic marketplace.
After a chance to freshen up at the hotel, we board the BB Riverboat for an included dinner cruise. Relax on the water, enjoy scenic river views, and savor a delicious meal as the boat gently glides along the river - perfect way to end a day of exploration.
Day 4:
Today we step back in time at the Creation Museum. After breakfast, enjoy an included visit and journey through the story of Genesis with interactive exhibits that bring biblical history to life. Encounter lifelike animatronic Noah, explore dramatic Flood dioramas, wander a realistic Garden of Eden, and experience stunning video presentations.
Take time to explore on your own and enjoy lunch at one of the museum’s onsite cafés, choosing from Noah's Coffee & Ice Cream, Tree of Life Cafe, Acacia Gifts & Refreshments, or Uncle LeRoy's Candy Kitchen.
After a leisurely day of discovery and reflection, return to the hotel to refresh before gathering for your final group dinner at Rafferty's, a local favorite sure to become yours as well.
After enjoying each other’s company and filling our bellies, we head back for a final rest - though tomorrow promises another exciting day.
Day 5:
After an included breakfast, we make tracks north to St. John, Indiana, for one last highlight of our journey: The Shrine of Christ’s Passion. This inspiring one-mile, interactive Prayer Trail brings the final days of Jesus Christ’s life vividly to life. Wander past forty life-size bronze sculptures set among beautifully sculpted gardens, accompanied by serene music and audio narration by Chicago broadcaster Bill Kurtis. The trail offers a peaceful, reflective experience unlike any other.
Construction of the Shrine began in 2001 and includes 3,000 yards of concrete, 200 semi-loads of boulders, and more than 1,000 trees and shrubs. The sculptures, created by Texas artist Mickey Wells, weigh between 300 and 700 pounds and depict key moments from Christ’s last days. Operated by a non-denominational, nonprofit foundation, the Shrine is maintained through donations and proceeds from its Gift Shoppe.
Midday, enjoy an included picnic lunch from Tiebel’s, a local favorite since 1929. Weather permitting, we’ll dine outdoors; otherwise, we’ll enjoy a relaxed meal inside a comfortable banquet hall. Tiebel’s has earned its place as a community institution beloved by locals and visitors alike.
After lunch, we board the motorcoach and begin our final stretch journey home, carrying memories of discovery, reflection, and fellowship from an unforgettable trip. Thanks for joining us - until next time!
