Come along on this multi-day tour that will take you from the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville, to Graceland in Memphis, to Tupelo, MS for the birth place of Elvis. We will also stop at Sun Studios for a Rock 'n Roll guided tour and view the duck parade at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis. While we are so far south, we will stop at the Civil Rights Museum, visit the Legacy Museum, and the National Memorail for Peace and Justice.
Other sites we will visit along our way are the Museum of Aviation, Robins AFB, the General Jackson Showboat for dinner and live entertainment. The National Corvette Musuem is another stop where will tour and enjoy our box lunch before going to the Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid to ride the 28-story free-standing elevator to the top unveiling a 360 degree view of Memphis and the Mississippi River. By the end of our trip we will have travelled through Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama and Mississippi and have enjoyed our stops along the way making new friends and enjoying the adventure! Day 1
Lamers’ first stop of your 6-day 5-night tour is lunch at the Golden Corral, Tifton GA. After, we visit the Museum of Aviation at Robins AFB preserving & presenting history & heritage of the U.S. Air Force, honoring contributions and sacrifices of members. The Fairfield Inn & Suites, Chattanooga TN, is our first night’s hotel.
Day 2
The Cave Walk to Ruby Falls at Lookout Mountain is your first destination. This stunning 145-ft underground waterfall is illuminated and well-maintained with paved walkways, handrails, steps. In the afternoon, tour the Musicians Hall of Fame, Nashville TN. After checking in and freshening up at Drury Inn & Suites, board the Lamers Coach again for the drive to the General Jackson Showboat for a Southern-style dinner & live entertainment.
B, L, DDay 3
The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY is first tour of the day with a box-lunch before driving south to Memphis. A unique adventure awaits you at the Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid to ride the 28-story free-standing elevator to the top unveiling a 360 degree view of Memphis and the Mississippi River. Lodging reservations are at the Drury Inn & Suites in Horn Lake, MS.
Day 4
In the morning, arrive at Elvis Presley’s iconic mansion Graceland, Memphis TN. Walking through the rooms where Elvis lived allows you to understand his impact on rock ‘n roll and how he shaped the cultural landscape. In the afternoon walk with a guide through Sun Studios, aka The Birthplace of Rock ‘n Roll. Afterwards, depart for Peabody Hotel to watch the arrival of The Peabody Ducks at 4 p.m. Lodging for the night is the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Southaven, MS.
.Day 5
After a good night’s rest, visit the humble, two-room Birthplace of Elvis Presley inTupelo, MS. Our next stop is the Civil Rights National Monument in Montgomery, AL. Rooms at the Staybridge Suites in Montgomery are reserved for the night
B, DDay 6
Visits to The Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice serve as cultural landmarks, and serve as our last stop on this trip. Our time here will be spent fostering a deeper understanding of the struggles for justice and equality in the United States.
